# ClickHelp Release Notes: November 2026

Documentation index for AI tools: [/llms.txt](/llms.txt)

You now have more control over navigation, page layout, and branding with the Next Reader UI template. Finding references to topics and files is faster, and new API methods let you connect documentation access to your CRM or subscription system.

## Tailor the Next reading experience to your documentation

You now have more choice over how readers move through your documentation with the [Next Reader UI template](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/new-reader-ui-template). Keep the full table of contents alongside each topic, or hide the navigation panel to focus the page on its content. You can also adjust the text width to suit your material.

The new options extend to branding: use your colors and add a custom footer with links to your website, contact information, or legal notices. Configure these in [Reader Interface Settings](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/reader-interface-settings). If you're switching from a legacy template, see the [supported settings for Next](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/new-reader-ui-template/a/h2_233680939).

## Know what a change affects before you make it

Before you rename, replace, or remove a topic or file, you need to know what links to it. [Global Find and Replace](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/global-find-and-replace) can now find those references in seconds, even on large portals. You can review and update the links in the same place. The same improvement applies to Link Viewer and Where is this file used?, including references to styles and scripts.

Before you delete a project or publication, ClickHelp shows how many topics link to it. You can review those references in Global Find and Replace and update them before proceeding.

## Manage documentation access from your CRM or subscription system

When you share restricted documentation with customers or partners, you can now connect group access to the records in your CRM or subscription system. ClickHelp API v2 lets your developers manage [Access Groups](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/access-groups), their permissions, and their members from that system.

For example, an integration can add a customer to the appropriate documentation group based on the product they use.

The API follows the same access rules as the interface. Power Reader groups give access to Restricted publications; Reviewer groups give access to projects and Private or Restricted publications. The API module and the license options for the corresponding group type are required.

## Improvements

* When you add [Index Keywords](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/index-keywords) to a topic, you can reuse existing keywords, including second-level keywords, or enter a new one. Reusing keywords helps keep your index consistent.
* The import API now accepts CHM, PDF, GitBook, ReadMe, Document360, MadCap Flare, and Author-it content for automated imports and migrations.
* We've improved how AI agents discover public documentation on your portal as part of our ongoing work to make documentation easier for AI tools to find and read. Publication visibility controls access; [robots.txt](/articles/clickhelp-user-manual/robots-txt) gives crawlers instructions about which pages to crawl.

| The new version will be gradually rolled out within a few weeks. You'll receive a notification 72 hours before your portal's update. The process is seamless with no service interruptions. |
